Anthony Schrag | Walk and Screening Event
What Lies (Beneath Cupar)?
Anthony’s artwork is part interactive tour, part performance and part film, and there are two opportunities to take part in this event:
Saturday, June 18 at 10.30am
Wednesday June 22 at 4pm
Duration: 2 hours approx. includes 45 minute walk, followed by screening and discussion.
‘What Lies (Beneath Cupar)?’ explores the mysterious Lady Burn that appears and disappears beneath the town. Inspired by underground waters and the mythic place they occupy in human psychology, his work addresses questions such as: “Who was the Lady, and what happened to her? What beasts hide in those dark, liminal underworlds?” As a research-based exploration of these questions, Anthony’s work will develop into a public and participatory project during Cupar Arts Festival. He will be working with a number of groups in the community prior to the event including students at Fife College and pupils from the town’s primary school.
Meet at the Festival Hub on both occasions. Participation is free and no booking is required.
Please note: The screening and discussion element of the event will be held at the Festival Hub on Saturday, June 18 and at Jordan’s Nighclub on Wednesday, June 22. Both venues are wheelchair accessible.
