Juliana Capes
For this year’s Cupar Arts Festival, Juliana Capes is developing a new installation that will span the threshold between indoor and outdoor space. Her artwork is playful, and she builds complex installations from the repetition and adaptation of simple forms and objects. Obsessive and experimental, made from everyday items, her installations transform the mundane into the mesmeric.
Juliana graduated from Birmingham School of Fine Art in 1996, and has since lived and worked in Edinburgh. Her 2015 exhibitions included installations at Hidden Door Festival in Edinburgh, Wall Projects in Montrose and Society of Scottish Artists (SSA) 2015 at the National Galleries of Scotland, where she won the SSA Exhibition Prize 2015. She predominately works in sculpture, installation and performance.
