Yuck n Yum

Yuck n Yum YYADA (Yuck n Yum Art Distribution Unit) Dundee-based Yuck ‘n Yum is a distribution conduit for emerging artists. They promote local, national and international artists through a quarterly art ‘zine, as well as organising events in and around Dundee. At the Cupar Arts Festival 2009 YNY gave away free art. They commissioned artists, past contributors to the zine, to create limited-run special edition artworks ranging from pots of marmalade to prints. Will MacLean

Will MacLean & Marian Leven Internationally-acclaimed artist Will Maclean has long-standing connections with Cupar. Will Maclean RSA RSW RGI was born in Inverness in 1941, and was an art teacher inFife schools, including Bell Baxter, Cupar where he taught from 1969 until 1979. His works are in various public collections including the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow Art Gallery, The British Museum and the National Art Collection. Along with artist Marian Leven RSA RSW, Will was Invited Artist at the first Cupar Arts Festival.  

Colin Andrews

Colin Andrews The Angel of Callange This video-work showed a recreation of Vincenzo Lunardi’s historic hot-air balloon flight between Edinburgh and Cupar in 1785. The project was selected by Dalziel & Scullion to receive an award offered by Cupar Arts which covered project expenses.  

Fifeman

Fifeman Alan Grieve, Peter Haining, Jason Nelson, Kevin Reid This exhibition was an unconventional exploration of the psyche of ‘Fifeman’ by four male artists all hailing from towns inFife. All four artists utilise myth, storytelling along with the people and places of Fife in their work. ‘Fifeman’ presented the work of Dunfermline man Alan Grieve, Kelty lads Jason Nelson and Kevin Reid, with Peter Haining who was schooled at Bell Baxter, Cupar and BuckhavenHigh School.
