The interior was dark, apart from points of light created by perforations in the roof which made a star field and the structure was open to the public at all times. A sense of calm pervaded the space. The dome had an interesting acoustic quality which transposed sounds. Karen Spy Arbor Vitae Elm, (Beeswax, Red Ochre, Water, Homoeopathic dilution of Menstrual Blood) Crow’s Wings, Hare’s Ears, Harris Tweed Quilted Woollen Blanket, Mead, Cup. “She drinks a cup of mead and enters Arbor Vitae, wrapped in the blanket with Hare’s ears and Crow’s wings. After 1 hour she returns.” Karen Spy’s work pays attention to integrity and healing through attentive labour and ritual process. ‘Mindful Actions’ incorporate deep ecology, myth and significant symbolism; these actions are often ‘Emergency Interventions’ – Social Sculpture, with the sole intention of restoring balance.

Dalziel & Scullion GENUS The Dalziel + Scullion studio creates artworks in photography, video, sound and sculpture that explore new artistic languages around the subject of ecology. Tim Fitzpatrick Clash Close It is difficult to get a real sense of this beautiful interactive installation from photographs. Clash Close is one of the most special closes in Cupar, wide at one end and becoming very narrow towards the other. Tim installed a row of illuminated photographs along the wall of the close which the viewer followed, whilst listening to a murmered narrative. Eventually, visitors to the close walked out into the light at the end.
