Owen Daily’s work blends conversation with archival fragments of local history, public domain texts and images, as well as critical texts related to liminality. He is presenting these works in various liminal sites across Cupar using a mixture of large format posters, graphics and digital interventions. By focusing on the ethnographer Arnold van Gennep’s categories of separation, margin and aggregation, Owen hopes that these artworks invite us to explore Cupar afresh and help us rethink the boundaries that make us, and our town, what we are today. Owen Daily is a Dundee-based artist, designer and lecturer. In 2012 he co-founded Nomas* Projects, a zero-budget curatorial experiment, gallery and discussion platform. He is interested in the role of art in effecting social change and the potential of marginal sites for fostering new forms of creativity.
